Finance, economy ministries get closer on privatization
MOSCOW, Nov 25 (PRIME) -- The Finance and Economic Development ministries have elaborated joint approaches to extended privatization, although relevant ministries should work out decisions on some companies, the Finance Ministry said in a statement on Monday.
“Additional assets that may be included in the privatization plan were studied. We came to understanding of general principles and approaches. Nevertheless, decisions on some companies should be worked out together with the relevant ministries taking into account the consolidated position of the Finance and Economic Development ministries,” the statement read.
The ministry will prepare a report for the Russian government after consultations with the federal authorities.
In October, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said that the government should prepare a more ambitious privatization plan. Economic Development Minister Maxim Oreshkin said that the ministry would prepare the privatization plan until the end of 2019, while Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Moiseyev said that the ministry suggested additional consideration of privatization of Transneft, Russian Railways, Aeroflot, Rosseti, and RusHydro.
